Regarding this article this should work, but I can not get it to work. Anyone that have tips?
Hi @Christofer
I'm sure you understand my situation - but please forward this to your senior officers, who apparantly don't understand so well.....because this is hurtfull to your brand.
Just read an article describing the android OS update speed of different main mobile manufacturers. Motorola was best-in-class with 53 days from OS release to update, then a group with up to 122 days.....and then Sony as "by far worst-in-class" with 180 days!
I've now spend numerous hours rooting/flashing and what-ever - following the guidance from XDA developers and others - really not something I wanted to do..... but now I have a MUCH better phone with 16 GB of internal storage and 50 GB of external, AND I can shift my "non-critical" app's to external......
You/Sony could have done the same with this last update - and earned youself a lot of grateful and future customers. Now we are all looking for a new phone - and this will definately NOT be labelled SONY.
Dear Christofer... why should Sony be in a lucrative market, if they can't do what an amateur (myself), assisted by some geeks (XDA developers) can do with seemingly ease?
If wish the best for your and Sony's future - but I fear the worst.
Sorry but this is true for all Xperia devices which have received the Android 6 update.
I have a Z5 and a Z2 Tablet, both updated to Marshmallow. Both of them can't use adoptable storage.
My son has a M4 Aqua and it's the same (he was really longing for this option !!).
It's true that it is very frustrating as this is a major change which has been awaited by a lot of Android users.
I have aslo tried to unlock the function with ADB but it doesn't fully work and it messes up with some applications like the camera for example. Therefore, I just came back to the original configuration.
It is really disappointing !
I really hope that Sony is working on implementing this on all its range.
A lot of phone manufacture's did not include the adoptable storage in android 6.0 update not just sony. you can email sony to suggest this feature here Local support
Please let us know if this option will become available . asap. This could prevent a lot of sony aqua owners from throwing phones in bin and slaughtering sony for letting them down ..... surely you are aware the aqua 4 is absolutely useless without adoptable storage ....so why is this not happening ..
Keep in mind that this is a user based forum, and it doesn't seem like it will be adopted; Sony it's not the only brand that didn't incorporated this to their update.
