Found turned off after charging overnight and unable to turn on

I have the strangest problem. After I plugged my Xperia SP in to charge last night, I found my phone turned off this morning. I wasn't able to turn it on, by pushing the button only a red led flashes. Pushing the off-button at the back of the phone (hard reset) doesn't work either. On the SP, the battery cannot be removed. So I've tried PC Companion, but it says that the phone isn't connected. I've tried Sony Update Service, but most of the times there is no respons. I have had two times that I felt the phone vibrate, as if it was turning on, but than said SUS that it couldn't recognise the phone. On time the service started, but than at the and, it said it couldn't proceed due to low battery and it turnd off again.

Does anyone has any idea what can be done to fix this? The phone seemes te have crashed during the night. I don't know what happened, I am really carefull with my phone.

You should try this:charge it at a wall socket for 2 hours, force it to shut down by pressing the little back button.Try again to repair with SUS.

I'll try it, but I'm not sure it will work. There is a contstant red led burning as soon as I plug it in the wall socket.

Just charge it and give it a try.If this does not work, you have to stop by a sony service.

Situation after one hour of chargin: a green led lits up in the bottum bar for about 10 seconds, then a see SONY in my screen and a red led in the bottum bar, als for about 10 seconds. Then the green led again. I don't dare te touch it right yet. I have to go out in 15 minutes, so I let it charge until tonight and than try to run SUS again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for making me try once more!!! Wíth the addition to charge an extra couple of ours. It worked!! My Xperia SP works again, I'm so happy!! In a couple of days I'm leaving for my vacation, and I allready feared that I had to by an other phone just for the vacantion.

I don't know whát exactly happened. Somehow the phone stopped charging overnight, and something crashed. It hasn't charged well this afternoone either, because after the recovery I have only 19% of battery left. So I'm charging again and it seemes to have picked it up better now, its allready 25%.

Do you have any idea what might have happened? You seem to know quite a lot about Sony Xperia, you've helped me several times now. I'll propably spend the rest of the evening sorting out all off my apps and the settings again, but that beets sending my phone to repairs or buying a spare one!

Thanks again! I hope you have any ideas about the problem too.

The problem could be battery related (these Li-Ion batteries should not be allowed to discharge completely as this affects their life) so it needed much more to recharge.Or it could have been a software glitch,in which case the software repair worked.

It makes me really proud to see you thanking me so intensely!
