<-> Hi I just updated my sony Xperia SP with the latest sony update after doing this I cannot log back into my phone. I enter my sim and encryption passwrod which are both accpeted by the device but the device just reboots it self back to the login screen. Please help as I cannot use my phone and I will be travelling tomorrow

Please reload the firmware via a repair:
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

repeat the update process, perhaps the SIM card its faulty, remove the SIM card and try to access your phone w/o the SIM card

thanks for the respone. I managed to reset my phone to factory default. It took a few attempts as the device USB connection was not recognised by my PC but it eventually worked.
I'm glad its working now
Thank you for the replies. I am unable to start the phone at all. Now it's showing a red light, wich means it's charging, but I'm still unable to do anything. It won't even appear in Device Manager. I'm using Windows 8 64 bit.
I am waiting for prepare, but I don't know anything about the phone: battery status etc. Also, the SIM card is a brand new one and it works on other phones, even with a SIM adapter (Allview Simply S5 - backup phone works very well).
