ST17a ATT network help

Have a new st17a that I set up at home on wifi and umts/micro cell worked fine.

SIM card came from a working BB bold on att.

Went to att store to change my data plan from blackberry to a generic data plan.

The rep said the st17a was on the network as hspa and should be fine.  Could not get the mobile network to work.

Still having the same problem?  I am in the Sacramento are of California and thought this should be pretty easy?

Are the seting to change or something?  The att rep was of couse not aware of the phone or how to make it work.

I need to go back to the att store to have them transfer all my BB contacts over to the st17a and want to have tried and know as much as possible beforehand.

The only hint I can get is in the about phone - status -mobile network it says "disconnected"

?

Thanks,

Brian

as for your contacts, on your BB sync them to Google

http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/

then you can sync them to your ST17a

settings -> accounts & sync -> google -> make sure contacts its selected and voila

Wow great help thanks..  I think it is working...

I tried the internet settings - click accept - and it says could not download settings want to try again? -> yes same thing.

I did get please access www.sonyericsson.com from your computer's browser to get correct settings. Didn't do that...

I entered everything on the apn page/form and saved it - at first it did the same thing.  I then unplugged my micro cell and turned off wifi connectivity.

Now mobile network says connected - progress...

I can not get the 'internet settings" to complete but that is just auto populating the apn stuff right?

As for google have not done that yet but it is a brilliant suggestion.

Went to att earlier and they could neither get the phone to work or move my contacts.

The bb usb port is dead - one of the reasons I got a new unit.

I was waiting for the iphone 5 release and since they didn't do it so I started looking around.  I am an avid cyclist and found the ant+ support on the st17a.

When I go ridding/training I have a cycling computer and a cell in my pocket for emergency etc...

Now I have one unit that does all.  Three is some work to be done in the cycling app space but that is coming fast...

Wonderful support - happy customer - thanks!
