I recently bought a Plusnet Hub 1 with unlimited fibre broadband and Unlimited Wifi. I'm attempting to attach it to a KDL-32EX503 Bravia for internet access. I've attached the Router to the TV and went through the procedure of accessing Network Settings-wired setup-(I've then tried Auto and Manual and having been in contact with Plusnet I've tried different DNS settings)-all of which have yielded the same results:- Cable Connection, Local Access and Internet Access are all "ok",however when I then try to Refresh Internet Content it says "Configuration failed while connecting- 0 - please try again later. I have been trying again later for about 5 hours and still nothing. I ran some server diagnostics which tell me that "servers cannot be found". My firmware is PKG4.O2OEUL-0103 which should work with internet access, right? It's worth noting that I have been using freeview until now so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that I'm doing something wrong myself because I have never tried to get internet access through the TV before. Has anyone got any suggestions? (And yes I've turned it off and on again!)
This TV mostly uses the Internet for automatic updates and given it's a 2010 TV, the services it used to have, most likely have long been discontinued (probably the reason you get the "servers cannot be found" error message).
I'm assuming you're looking to use it for Internet apps/services, if that's the case, check out this article with some alternatives directly from Sony.
