How to stop Bravia's analogue white noise before switching in AV-1

Hello from a newbie.  Having just installed my Bravia KDL-32EX713, I'm learning about various settings.  One irritating thing I cannot fix so far is that, with an external set-top-box plugged into AV-1, when the Bravia is first switched on it goes to a grey 'noise' screen, presents me with an unsettling amount of white noise, then switches to mute and finds AV-1 (eventually).  Anyone know how to 'force' it to pick up AV-1 when switching on?  The interlude is noisy and very uncool.  Thanks, Paul

Mine starts up on what ever input was selected when I turned it off. I didnt select anything to make it do this. But if I hit a station number key by mistake I agree it makes a terrible amount of noise.
