Just bought a bravia 3d.The picture is so dull

Have spent hours fiddling about with the picture settings..Still crap and dull..Have found if i press the 3d button and have the 3d setting on low the picture is a whole lot better.....Is there a fault or do i have to live with this piece of junk...
