KDL-40D3500 and Sky+HD

Hi all

I'm having a small problem with my KDL-40D3500 TV and the way in which turning it on with the Sky+HD remote that doesn't work as I think it should. So I'm hoping someone here can help.

First of all, the Sony TV and the Sky+HD box are connected to the power with a Powerdown socket from Eon. The TV connected to the Master socket and the Sky box is connected to Permanent On socket.

The Sky box is connected to the TV via HDMI1. A digital arial (for Freeview) is connected via the Arial In socket on the Sky box.

When I first turn the TV on with the Sky remote, the light on the TV is red, and if I wait for a short while, the TV switches itself off again.

If I repeat the above, the light on the TV goes to Green and the TV comes on showing the last viewed Sky channel. But I can't actually do any Sky things, like change channel etc, until I press the Sky button on the Sky remote.

If I have been watching Freeserve, perhaps while recording two Sky channels, and I turn off the TV, then when I try to turn it back on as above, the TV comes on OK but I cannot get Sky until I use the Sony remote (button 4 in the manual) to change the Input from TV to HDMI1.

Does anyone know how I can setup the TV to automatically start on the previously viewed Sky channel without all the above palaver?

Thanks in advance

Hi your adapter is working correctly, to turn the TV on you need to select TV on the Sky remote and then select power, then change to Sky and do the same, the Eon adapter will turn on the wall socket and the TV, as the Sky box is powered for recording you need to switch to Sky to use the remote for its function.  The TV will return to the last input as long as it is active, so make sure you Sky box is on first, if you were on the Tuner it will return to that channel.
