Unfortunately it is not up to Sony on whether they will add RTE Player. At current, RTE player on TV is only available on certain Samsung TVs. You will need to contact RTE themselves to see whether they have any plans to develop an app for Sony TVs.
i have a Sony Bravia "Android" tv and it does not have the RTE player either. It has google play but I can't even access the rte player app. I suspect Sony are restricting access fir their own financial reasons. Waiting fir a dividend from RTE i suspect
