KDL-42W654A YouTube not working properly

Hi there, from last three weeks YouTube is not working properly and videos stop playing within few minutes while connecting directly in my TV app or through my tablet. Could you give a solution to fix this email issue.

Just a heads up - YouTube is working for me again now, all videos play all the way through.  Something must have been tweaked at their end cause no updates have been released.  Good times!

Hi there

 

Firstly, is your TV connected to your router wirelessly or via ethernet cable.  If wireless, use an ethernet cable, as this will determine if its a wireless issue or not.

 

Secondly, what is your internet speed?  If its on the low side, it will pause quite a bit.  Goto http://www.speedtest.net/   to find out.

I have tried with Ethernet cable and still facing the same issue.Also find my internet connection speed :

Downstream - 6141 kbps , upstream - 797 kbps.

 

Its working fine for last four months, but this issue is prevailing only for last few weeks.

Hi,

my sony tv is also crashing since a recent software update when I use youtube.

Is there a fix for this or do i need to return it somewhere its only just over a month old

Hi there

 

Reading back on your problem - the problem seems to not only be TV related, but on your Tablet as well.  This to me therefore indicates some type of network issue.

 

A couple of suggestions:

  • In the YouTube application itself, is there a way to reduce the video quality (ie from HD to SD)?
  • Does it freeze at certain times of the day (such as after 6pm)?
  • When it freezes, do a quick speedtest on the website above, incase your internet is going slow?
  • Have a look at your ISP's Support pages/forums to see if anyone else is reporting similar problems
  • Have a browse on the google/youtube forums and/or report a problem : HERE

Speed is not an issue for sure !!

It is a software related issue as since a recent software update it is now playing up!

Is there a support number I can phone to discuss this issue?

Hi again,

 

I have been onto Sony and went through all the settings etc and still no good, he did hint that other people are having problems. I'm guessing this wont get resolved anytime soon so back to John Lewis and see if they will swap it for another make !!

Hi all, I too have problems with youtube. My tv - KDL-42W653A. When youtube freezes - tv does not respond to pressing the remote, and then reloaded, sometimes with red blinking light. Latest firmware update to PKG4.001EUA version did not help. I use wi-fi router 802.11n 150 Mbps, speedtest - 45/30 Mbps. Movie MKV 1080p 22Mbps bitrate via DLNA works fine.

I get a feeling this thread is going to get lots of posts !!

I have been onto the retailer where i purchased my TV (John Lewis) and they are more than happy to exchange it , Looks like a samsung is on the cards. i dont think for 1 minute this is going to get resolved soon !!
