KDL-60W606B - 7 months old and faulty

How do you get hold of Sony to fix a faulty device. .... Call the "no help" line because it is only open 9 to 5 Mon to Fri... Funny enough that is when we are at work earning enough money to be able to afford Sony products.

 

I am not adverse to a little self help... but the level of website support beyond basic how to set up or use the TV is dire. 

 

I was going to take out the 5 year extended Sony warranty... but I am thinking it is probably a waste of money... anyone had experience and think similar or otherwise?

 

The fault....

 

The TV keep switching itself off and restarting about every 2-3 minutes. There is no access to set up menu's or anything other than basic on/off change channel and volume.

 

There is a newer firmware release, but I am unable to get the TV to recognise a USB stick or to allow my to get access to any menus.
