I've had a smart tv for 2 weeks and barely used it yet, just watched a few you tube clips. I've used 10GB more than normal this month of my internet allowance and have now reached my limit and been cut off. Worryingly an additional 1GB (which I have been fined £20 for) was used from 3am - 6am yesterday morning whilst I was asleep and my tv was off. All other devices were off. Is this possible? Does it update and download whilst off/standby mode? My wireless network is passworded and secure. I'm concerned! Hoping for some advice, thanks.
TV can't use data when power is off.
It is possible to disable Wifi on the TV and stop it using data.
The issue a few of us experience is the use of data (1Gb a week). Like the person who started the thread, I use 3-mobile broadband as BT only have a 256kb ''broadband'' where we live. 3 mobile is upto 20Mb for a third of the price - BUT - we are limited to 15Gb a month.
