Netflix not working

Hello. I have a TV Sony Bravia model KDL-40EX720 bought back in 2012. Today was my first day using NETFLIX. I tried to watch a movie  but I encountered the following problem. I connect to my account and choose what I wish to see. When I click on it and wait for the movie to load, the screen turns black and nothing is on. Since there's no trouble with the internet coonection, may it be a fault of the TV since it's old?

Any ideas?

What speed connection do you have?

 

Are you able to return to the movie / TV selection screen

when the screen turns black?

 

Have you tried restarting your TV?

(Unplug the power for at least a minute.)

 

You could also try signing out and then signing back into Netflix to see if that helps.

Hello. 

The speed connection is above 5mbps, sometimes it reaches 6,5.

Yes, I can go back the tv or the site when I press the right button. I've tried it a couple of times. I even switched off the router, the tv but with no success. I'll go and buy a cable to connect the TV to the router. Now it's through WiFi. 

I'll go through all the steps again and see what happens.
