No Home menu on KDL46ex723 via HDMI 1 used by Sky hd box

hi

ive seen many posts re "not able to get Home menu on the HDMI 1 channel, mine is the same on my kdl46ex723

i have only noticed this since a recent firmware update

i still have over a year left on my 5 yr warranty but most posts indicate that Sony have buried their heads I. The sand and not come up with a fix

ive tried a number of suggestions from various posts but yo no avail

i can get the HOME menu on HDMI 2 etc but not HDMI 1 WHY ?

Mike

Hi there

Disable "HDMI Control" on the Sky box, and the Home button should work.

More information see:

Cheers

if you have seen those posts should have seen also the solution:smileywink:.. you may  want to disable completely disable braviasync (in the hdmi setting of teh TV) or push the sync ,menu button while on hdmi1 and set the tv remote to control tv instead of sending the command to the ezternl device

Hi

i tried this 3 days ago and it did not work

just done the process again and it worked!!!!

Spoiler

But why have to do this now? It's been fine for 3 yrs!

I put it down to a firmware problem

thanks for all the replies

Hi there

Sky recently updated the software for its boxes to include HDMI-CEC features.  Unfortunately this is a consequnce of this.
