Sony BDPS370 Blu ray player Bravia Sync problem

I have connected my Sony BDPS370 bluray player with my Sony KDL46EX503 TV using a HDMI cable. The player appears to work fine, but on the Bravia Sync menu on the list of connected devices the description is "no device detected". The HDMI control device is switched to "on" for both the player and the TV.

Does anyone have a solution, please, as one of the reasons that I purchased the Sony BD player was so that it would sync up with the TV?

All any help will be gratefully received.

Hi as long as you have enabled HDMI control on both units it should work, however if you have a Virgin Media or Sky HD box attached that do not support this function is can prevent it working.

Thanks,  but I have enabled HDMI control on both the TV and the BD player. No Virgin Media or Sky HD box connected, so I'm bamboozled.

Any other suggestions?

Might be worth trying an alternative HDMI cable? There are a few threads where something has not worked and it was cured by a new HDMI cable? In theory you should have a 1.4 spec, but I have the 40" model and the 1.3 works fine (1.3 theoretically does not support ARC)

Good luck!

Hi,

I've got exactly the same issue with my sony Bluray and Tv, both with Bravia Sync and brand new. I was looking for an answer and I also was wondering if it could depend on the HDMI cable.

I've got a couple of new cables on the way and will do some trials asap. Have you managed to solve this issue? If so, how?

Cheers,

L

Dear Dakkar78,

I have the same problem with my BRAVIA Tv and the Sony Bluray Player (BDV-E870). My HDMI cable is working properly but there is no synchronisation.

Have you already managed and solved the problem at your devices?

Cheers!

I have a similar problem with a Bravia KDL 40EX713U TV with a Sony Home Cinema System DAV DZ280.

When I first set this up the Home Cinema would take over the TV sound and show a message Audio Speakers Active. Suddenly this stopped some time ago and I now have to mute the TV sound when connecting the Home Cinema, otherwise I have both sets of speakers operating giving an echo. I've tried the set up menu but the TV does'nt now recognise any HDMI devices. I have now set up Talk Talk YouView and this is not recognised either. I have to manually select the input for the HDMI connection. Funnily enough, it does seem to recognise the DVD player in the Home Cinema when connected.

I believe this to be a fault in Sony's firmware for these TVs. The HDMI cables all seem OK.

Has anyone got any ideas
