SONY BRAVIA KLV-48R562C

Hello, 

SONY BRAVIA KLV-48R562C stopped working recently. I bought this TV 2 years back (out of warrenty). Technician said that the COB IC / panel COB IC of the TV has gone faulty. Could you please help me to understand what could be cause of such issues?
