Sony KD49XE7073SU 49 Inch Smart 4K Ultra HD TV - Headphone Output

I have just bought a Sony KD49XE7073SU

I need to leave headphones plugged in, and so I need to use the 'Headphone Speaker Link - Off' setting in the Set-up / AV Set-up menu. This works fine when configured, but when the TV is turned off/on, then nothing is heard from the headphones until I go back into that menu and turn that setting On then Off.

I can't see that this is a hardware fault; I assume it's a software bug/glitch.

Can anyone confirm if this is common issue, or if there is another workaround?

Hi Paul, welcome to the Sony Community 

It's likely that setting resets once you power down the TV. Does it happen when it goes onto standby too? 

One possible solution would be to use a reciever or some kind of external sound system which you could plug into instead.
