Sony KDL-32EX403 with Ext USB Hard drive.

I have been using the USB port on my Sony KDL-32EX403 Bravia with a USB stick to play some mp3 music files and AVI files to watch on my Sony TV.

As the USB stick was small, I now have a 500Gb USB HD with its own power supply plugged into the TV's USB.

It doesn't seem to be recognised?

My USB Stick was formatted as FAT32, does the Sony TV only recognise this format??

I don't want to RECORD to my drive, just play files FROM the drive through the TV. Are only USB Sticks supported or can I use a dedicated USB stand alone drive?

I have never tried it, but my BRAVIA TV (KDL-37EX720) doesn’t support NTFS. Maybe that’s the problem. If you want files bigger than 4 GB, than format in exFAT32 (although, all files bigger than 4GB resulted in reproduction is not available or something like that (simply won't play.)).

Is that so? I have a USB that was formatted in NTFS and it is actually working. Or I guess I am just missing something. I will check it later just to be sure.
