Sony TV KD-555XG9505BU

I have just bought a new Sony TV Model No KD-55XG9505BU. I watch it through a Virgin Tivo Box and sometimes the sound and picture fall out of sync.  Can anyone help?

Hi gemcall,

It will help us to know if the Virgin box is connected directly to the TV or if it goes through an AV receiver. Also, have you tried a different cable? Do you have other external devices connected to the TV? Do any of them have similar issues?

HI Fadi

The Tivo box is connected directly to the TV. I also have a Blue Ray player connected to the TV which i have only used a couple of times with no problems so far.

The problem with the Tivo box is so intermittent (maybe once every 3 or 4 days) that I wouldn’t know if the Blue Ray player has the same problem or not.

I have ordered new HDMI cables with the spec recommended by Sony and hope this will solve the problem. If not I will contact you again.

Cheers

I'm having this problem with my new 55XG9505 (UK) using Sky Q and a Blu-ray player. On the main HD channels the picture is slightly ahead of the sound so there's no way I can offset this (The Sky Q box and Blu-ray player only permit me to delay the sound not the picture). I've tried having the TV's Auto-Sync setting on Off, On and Auto and it makes no difference. Netflix is also affected like this and it's off-putting to say the least. I've tried swapping HDMI leads and ports. No difference. I would love to find a way to delay the TV's picture or advance the sound because this "synching feeling" is spoiling my enjoyment of my first Sony TV.
