Unable to type when using the Remote Control

When I am in any of the Bravia Internet screens which require input, I am unable to enter anything using the remote control. For example, in YouTube search, I enter the search field, and no matter what keys I press on the numerical keypad nothing appears in the search field. Other than this the remote and the Internet connection are working fine.  Software version is PKG4-099EUL-0108

OK cracked it. It needed an extra pressof the circular button to bring up the numeric keypad AFTER I was in the input field. How odd.
