USB firmware update never completes

Hi all,

Can anyone help, please? I'm trying to update the firmware of a Bravia KDL-32EX703 using a USB stick.

The USB stick and the updated firmware are detected, and I get the "Preparing for system update... Copying update file from USB. Please wait..." message on-screen. Then the TV switches off, the front lights blink for about 30 seconds, the TV comes back on again...and nothing has changed.

It then loops forever: re-detects the USB stick, re-copies the update file, restarts the TV, etc, etc.

This goes on until I remove the USB stick. The firmware is never updated.

Things I've tried so far:

1) using a different USB stick

2) reformatting the USB sticks (FAT32) before using them

3) redownloading the update in case it was corrupted

4) connecting the TV to the internet and waiting for the auto-update process (the internet connection is working fine - I can see internet content, although BBC iPlayer doesn't work because it needs a software update (argh!))

5) resetting the TV to factory settings before doing the update

Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me nuts!
