Accidentally deleted Atheros wifi adapter from my Vaio VPCEH3N6E

I've used the support service on sony to redownload the software driver, however it still isn't working. Cannot access wifi from my laptop. HELP.

Thanks, Ed.

Have you downloaded the right WiFi driver for your Vaio? Check the serial number of your laptop. I guess it is located on the screen frame.

Yeah it's the right driver for my computer, just doesn't seem to want to work. Tried restoring it to earlier in the day but it said it cannot be completed due to antivirus settings. Turned them off, retried and still no joy!

Hi Ed,

Are you installing the Atheros driver Version 9.2.0.427 by downloading EP0000255410.exe and then running it by double-clicking on it?

Can you please check in Device Manager under 'Network Adapters' to see if there are any Yellow warning icons against any of your network adapters.

While you are there, are there any other uninstalled drivers showing a yellow !

Have you uninstalled anything else important?

Hi,

Yeah thats the driver and version I have downloaded and installed.

Under network adapters it has the Atheros driver there, not in yellow.

Apart from that one, there is nothing else which I have uninstalled.

Very confusing

Have you double checked that the hardware Wireless Switch on the front of the Vaio is turned on?

Also have you checked that 2.4GHz Wireless LAN software switch is turned on in Vaio Smart Network?

Is the wireless light, next to the switch, lit?
