active recovery desktop ??
umm well last week i restarted my laptop and well ever since i did that restart the active recovery desktop keeps comin up every time i restart , as my bakground ...can someone tell me how to get rid of it

Yes. Take it back to the shop where you got it and exchange it for a Barbie doll. Job done.

Hi Bianca,
Try this....
Open the Control Panel.
Open Display Properties.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the Customize Desktop button.
Click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window.
To disable Active Desktop, make sure all checkboxes in this window are un-checked....:smileyhappy:

Anyway Thalamus has sorted it, I honestly thought active desktop was removed from XP, so thanks for the information Thalamus!

Kee-Lo I think the active desktop channel bar component was removed with the release Windows 98 Second Edition...:smileyconfused:
