Altering screen brightness on vista

Hi,

I have installed all the essential utility drives and still I can't change the brightness of my screen. There is no option in the power saving options and when I press funtion the brightness thing pops up but is showing that the brightness is on nothing when it is clearly on full, and it won't let me alter it either way.
I am using vista business on FE11H.

Any suggestions?

Hi fiftyfifty and welcome to Club Vaio,

Have you installed ALL the Vista Utilities from HERE

Try reinstalling IN THIS ORDER

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service

and then re-boot your Vaio.

I've tried reinstalling these (in that order) more than once and still the same problem :S any other suggestions?
