Another Vista camera issue...?

Hi all

I reinstalled Vista on my laptop using a clean copy
Everything bit of the laptop works but my camera...

I cannot figure out where its gone wrong however, on launching the camera utility, it says there is no input

Having looked at device manager, I cannot find a camera there
And also, there is no camera in scanners & cameras under control panel

Could someone check in Device Manager to see where the camera is please?
I'm hoping that its something minor and not major like a faulty camera

On my FE41S it is under Imaging Devices.

Akash,

Looks like you're not alone, and some people have speculated it's due to power saving and bad power management

Hey Kee-lo 🙂

I'm not sure if its a PM issue or what...
Basically, today I decided to restore the laptop back to original factory state (the vista restore pack)

The camera worked fine there

But on a clean install... its not "found"
Theres no unknown device, and nothing under image devices (not that it even exists in mine!)

Its like in the Sz2 series where you had to install the UAA patch in order to "see" the soundcard anad modem
and after that, you would install the soundcard and modem
without the UAA patch, you would not even know a soundcard / modem existed

does that make any sense?

me being stupid
under imaging devices, there was a USB Video device
I updated it with the Sony driver...

Something made me think to check the existing stuff that Vista installed without needing a driver and there it was
