AR61S touchpad/pointing device

hi - advice please- positioning the cursor using the touch pad and hovering over a programme icon or similar that programme or activity will start automatically without tapping the touch pad left hand button. Also tapping the touch pad mimics the action of the left hand button - is this normal? Haven't tried a wireless mouse as yet so not sure if problem is touch pad related or not. Thanks

Hi busterboy and welcome to Club Vaio.

This is normal but the tapping feature can be turned off and on in your Touchpad properties.

Either go to Control Panel -> Mouse or double-click on the grey touchpad icon in your system tray and find the 'tapping' control box and remove the tick.
