ATI M9000 updates won't install

I¿m having problems installing several (driver) updates on my Vaio PCG-GRV616G notebook. Directly after starting the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 Graphics Driver Version : 6.14.10.6382 update package setup I get an error message box: Internal failure Error number 0x80040707, Description: (not filled in). When pressing OK the same message appears again and after that a `Severe error¿ popup: Unable to load ATICIM.dll. After pressing OK the setup appears to continue, but the license text is missing. After pressing the Express setup button the window closes and the program terminates. One of the earlier updates had the same behavior, as did some other updates (VEC_420206040_en en VEC_LE_03180_UK).

Um....this smacks of a bug it's a bit hard to diagnose. Call it a copout lol but I think you're best off calling Sony, or failing that ATi. Number at www.vaio-link.com.
