Should I remove the old driver before installing new one?
I wanna replace the vaio driver with the ATI one , to eliminate bugs with Halflife2 and CS source...

Hi there,
did you installing the updated video driver from www.vaio-link.com ?
Currently posted is version 6.14.10.6458. No mentioned of Half Life but could not hurt to give it a try. For some reason, there is also a screensaver update. I do not see how this may be related to video, but maybe this should be installed to. worth a shot before you go off installing generic ATI drivers

Try http://www.ati.com or try http://www.atitech.com for official ATi drivers. I hope the GPU isn't trashed!:smileycry:
Try the omega drivers!
www.omegadrivers.net
They work much better than the ones Sony supply (especially for games)!
DON'T use the official ATi ones(i.e. CATALYST)!
ATi does not support it's mobile chips (it leaves it to the laptop manufacturer). As such ATi drivers will not install by default onto a laptop. You can get a modding tool to force them too but I would not use it! THEY ARE NOT WRITTEN FOR THE MOBILE CHIPS!
The omega drivers have been adapted to work on mobile chips!
If you do download and use the omega drivers DO NOT use the overclocking facility, this WILL damadge you GPU!
I hope your Radeon is OK and you can get Half Life 2 to run!

I agree with Woody however I was having a few small issues with the latest Omega based on the Cat 4.10, so I thought why not try the latest Cat 4.12 (beta) especially designed for HL2 and other games. Follow the below instruction if you want to try it out, I would stress however that you do need have some basic os knowledge incase it doesn't work.....Though the worse case senerio is to re-install the current drivers you have.

Follow the instructions given and you should have no problems.
Also for cleaning ATI drivers best tool is drivercleaner3 which you can get here... http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=56277
I will be installing HL2 tonight as just arrived and will let you know how I get on
Do it at your own risk
Of course Kee-lo hence why I stressed you really need some os experience. However the worst thing you can do is have to re-install some graphic drivers if it doesn't work. Using non offical drivers is always a rish however the reson ATI do not make mobile drivers is they expect the manufactuers like Sony to keep them updated, they are all supplied with the latest drivers. it is companies such as Sony that do not keep drivers updated that cause us to look elswhere.
