I've posted this before but got no replies. Sony VAIO monitors have the silly autobrightness feature that adjusts the luminacy of the screen according to how much light is been shined on it. I don't like this as it makes the screen flicker and the brightness is insufficient in sunlight, and I can't figure out how to increase it. Even if i press Fn then F6 the brightness says it is at max, but if i juggle the screen it can get much brighter. you must be able to knock autobrightness off, i mena come on, i payed £1200 for my damn FS115S why should it tell me how bright i want the screen, I PAYED FOR IT- GIVE ME CONTROL!!
Please help me find a solution.
There should be 3 options for brightness from your Sony shortcut keys.
1. Auto Brightness
2. Manual Brightness
3. Full Brighness
There is also another setting in Sony Notebook Setup, from where you can even adjust how bright Auto-Brightness chooses to be.
dunno, cause i have desktop monitor
you can set it manually
i have auto, pc, movie, game
pretty good idea, thats just my opinion
i dont get any flicker
it wud really annoy me though if my screen kept flicking
im sure you can change it in display settings
let me know how it goes

Have you checked in Sony Notebook Setup?
where can i find sony notebook setup. I did a search and it came back with a jpeg of the thing im looking for
its in control panel, if u cant find it in the 'new look, windows xp' control panel, switch to classic view, it should be there.
theres a VAIO control centre, but none of the settings in there seem to have any effect. I may give Sony's useless analysts a call, so I'll see you some time this summer:smileylaugh:
i never think the auto brightness ever work anyway. i set my own brightness.
