bios problems on my RX403N

cant seem to upgrade my ram from 256 ddr Ram with two more of the same. it does not update and also i now get a error on start up saying "Hardware Monitor has found an Error please go to setup to see for details" when i do this I see nothing. plus I cant seem to get this new samgsung HDD to appear in my computer?

ok i fixed the HDD problem. but now the RAM is next. is there a way to upgrade the bios on the MB? for some reason ASUS dont have a P4S533-VX on there database only VM X and E this is meant to be a Sony thing only! damn i'm pissed!

if there's not a BIOS update on www.vaio-link.com then all I can suggest is checking the memory.
