hi
my sony vaio VGN-FS315M randomly goes to the blue screen after freezing for about 15-20 seconds. it says that the display driver "nv4_disp.dll" is caught in an infinite loop. This is usually when playing a game, or running several programs at once.
Sometimes it doesnt happen for weeks, then it will happen regularly for a while.
I have tried installing the latest display drivers, and disabled all startup programs, but this hasn't helped. i have a hunch that the problem lies with the graphics card (which by the way is a Nvidia GeForce Go 6400).
Help muchly appreciated
Please help!! I'm dying here without games.
Hi mark_mark24.
Have you read through THIS RECENT THREAD on the nVidia Forums? It seems to be a common problem but one contributor seems to have found a fix.
i have just downloaded a nv4loopfix.zip file and it looks like it might fix the problem.
cheers Blencogo:smileygrin:
Hasn't fixed it. Just got the error message whilst on BF2. But, it didn't come up with "The system has recovered from a serious error", just booted up fine.
I don't want to have to send it back to sony for a replacement.:smileycry:
Any advice welcome.

Hi
yesterday I fixed that problem with the following driver
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1227
I can play warcraft3 without bluescreens now
I'll try it then. Thanks CemB.
I tried it, but it uninstalled my graphics card somehow..
So i downloaded forceware 92.91 from www.laptopvideo2go.com with modded .inf.
See how it goes:smileyhappy:
P.S.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Didn't work. Just got the error message.
