I have a vaio (pcg-a115z) Laptop powers up for about 5 seconds then automatically shuts down and restarts but does not power the screen nor any audio... I have checked the memory and monitor they are both fine. I managed to boot the laptop eventually after several atempts but only if i loosen the screws underneath and then leave it still so the screen is on the desk and keyboard side facing the wall. When i managed to boot the laptop to XP and moved it i got the error: page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. This refers to driver conflicts, I do not think this is the issue as it has been fine since i bought it a year ago and i had not upgraded any drivers recently.
I do use a dual partition Ms Dos 6.22 and Win Xp
Could this have caused the problem over time or does anyone know the cause of this type of error?
The eror started under ms dos and up untill today, i managed to boot to the xp partition and after moving the laptop got the page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. So i do not think it is a Xp issue.
