I've just bought a new external monitor that requires a resolution of 1920x1080. My TZ laptop display settings don't offer that resolution. I've downloaded the latest Intel drivers. I'm having to use the new monitor at
1680x1050 which gives me a slightly fuzzy image. How do I get the TZ to offer the 1920x1080 res?
Hi nicparke and welcome.
I don't think there is any easy way to do this with Intel GMA Graphics.
You will probably need to try PowerStrip to design a custom resolution.
Thanks for the prompt response.
Just looked at the Powerstrip guide. It says I can't do a custom resolution with the Intel graphics card. Any other options?
I am sure I read somwhere that there is a beta version of PowerStrip that works with Intel GMA. I'll have a look and see if I can find a link.......... Ah it seems PowerStrip 3.74.594 has custom Intel GMA support: -

Can I actually get 1920x1080 through the VGA cable from the laptop to the separate monitor.
Yes it should be possible as long as your monitor accepts this resolution via VGA - check the instruction book.
Usually monitors will but most TVs will not.
Thanks for your advice so far.
Checked the instruction book. It doesn't tell me. The monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster F2380. It came with a VGA and other cables so I assume it should do 1920x1080 through the VGA cable.
Hi nicpark,
Assuming your monitor is a LS23NVTABW then here is a link for the Samsung F2380 23' montior specifications
