CD Drive Error in a PCG-F400
I had a problem with a floppy drive first of all, i checked it an all hardware sides of it are fine, but it wouldnt boot to it at post or read it in windows, at the same time my cd drive wouldnt be detected. So i removed the floppy drive and now the cd drive is detected in windows but like the floppy drive it will not read cd's, be recognised by the bios or boot at post... please help 😕

OK you have downloaded the Vaio Link drivers for the optical drive here and also it may just need an optical drive lens cleaner CD. I have one and it has worked for others but is a long shot if it is brand new.:smileywink:

already tried lens cleaner, it just skips it at post, if i can get it working at post i will be happy, but i cant update my bios as i cant boot to the floppy drive either, tried 3 new drivers too for windows and nothing. any ideas? also it will only get recognised in windows if i remove and disable the floppy drive, it also recognises the cd media but cant open it physically not really bothered about windows though
need it to work at POST so i can boot a cd
