Change the hdd
Hi there!
The hdd in my Vaio is beginning to die. I can transfer about 300 mb of data and then the player starts making a klicking sound and the software freezes. I've had experience on this with regular drives in computers so I'm pretty sure it's the hdd failing.
Anyway, is this covered by the warranty?
If it's not, is it possible to change the hdd. Can I buy a regular 2.5" hdd and just change, perhaps to a larger one.
I think the warranty is about to expire anyway...
Thanks for suggestions.

Hi David
I think it is going to be covered, as long as it wasn't done intentionally.

Great! I'll give Sony a call in the morning then.
Thanks!

Warranty.... definitely.
But... it might be possible to change the HDD... there is a Tosh 60Gb 2.5inch drive that apparently would fit - physically, at least....

Definitely it will be covered. You might end up with a better quality drive second time around, I did.

lol Although I'd have been interested in a feed-back from someone who changed the hard-drive in the Vaio Pocket.
Since it still is under warranty, I don't dare do that to mine, I'd love to know if it can be done "easily" as it can be on Archos products, for instance.
