Hi everyone,
I have a VGN-FW21M and I'm pretty happy with it. However, one thing keeps frustrating me - as I work in photo production, I'm very interested in accurate colour rendition. For accurate colours, in a desktop computer, I was used to associate the ICC profile of the separate display to that display's entry in the Windows Vista Colour Management dialog. As for the Vaio, I can find the following ICC profiles in the hard drive:
VAIO display profile_21554_01.icc
VAIO display profile_22834_01.icc
VAIO display profile_22834_02.icc
VAIO display profile_22834_03_D50.icc
VAIO display profile_22834_03_D65.icc
However, I don't know which ICC profile to associate with the laptop monitor entry in the Windows Vista Colour Management dialog, since there's no explanation of what each of them represents in any part of the documentation. If I associate any of them, I get different noticeable colour casts and a undesirable contrast boost in grayscale photos displayed by Photoshop and Photoshop Elements (that came with the Vaio). So something is wrong. Does anyone know what are these ICC files for after or how to find the correct one for accurate colours in this Vaio's display?
I've also noticed that the Vaio Control Center is able to select the best colour settings depending on the application in use. But I don't know which profiles the Control Center is actually using, and seeing the accurate colours is more important to me than movies with vibrant colours.
Thanks for reading!
Kind regards,
Pedro Pontes
If anyone could help I'm also interested in an answer.
