I have recently contacted sony support regarding a faulty left mouse button on my laptop, which is becoming increasingly unresponsive, and have been informed that the laptop is out of warranty and I will have to pay for the repair. According to the My Sony product information, it's under warranty till January 2013.
Can anyone inform me of the best way to confirm my warranty expiration date? I believe I have two years warranty (as does My Sony).
Thanks,
Dean.
Hi Dean.
Which Vaio model do you have, when and where was it purchased?
Generally speaking all Vaios sold in the UK have a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase. The only models that have a 24 month warranty are the ones that come preinstalled with Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate. I also think the CTO Custom Built Vaios have a 24 month warranty.
However, this differs in different countries of purchase - so if you post the details of your Vaio, we can get a definite answer.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Hi Dean,
Yes, as a CTO Model your warranty should be 2 years. I have been in contact with Sony for you and they will be in touch about your free repair.
