connects to wi fi by does not let me browse, any suggestions

My vaio connects to internet i.e. wireless light is on but it does not let me browse, on the bottom right hand cornor of the screen where it has internet connection icon a yellow mark appears and status is read as "No internet access". Any once come across the same thing and suggestions for solution.

Hi usmannaseer,

There are many possible causes but start with diagnostics . Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clicking Diagnose and repair.

If that either doesn't fix the problem or highlight the problem then try disabling your firewall and see whether this then allows connection to the net. You could also try connecting to the router via ethernet cable to see whether that provides connection.

Given the results of the above we may be able to guide you further.
