display changed after using projector - won't go back to usual

Can anyone help? I plugged in a projector last week and the vaio (VGN-Z16TN) asked what display I wanted. I selected the full desktop, gave the presentation, unplugged the projector and turned off computer ie: I didn't change the display back to normal. Then get home, turn on Vaio and it seems to be on same settings - fuzzy fonts and weird display. It seems to think it's still in presentation mode but I can't set it back. I don't have access to the projector now. Any ideas?

Have you checked the display settings.?

Right click on a blank part of your desktop and select Personalise, then in the new windows click on Display settings.

Or can run the VAIO Presentation Support and set it back to single monitor mode.

The software should be in: "C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Presentation Support\VPSStartup.exe"

I've tried both those suggestions with no joy. It says it is not on presentation mode now but that's not how it looks. I've played with the resolution but it just isn't the same as before I plugged the projector in........

Hi,

In the display properties window is the correct monitor selected and the resolution and colours set to the highest settings.?

thanks for the help. unfortunately if I adjust the settings, it is less fuzzy but the fonts are still not right - the spacing is incorrect. What on earth can it be? A virus? The display settings always go back to fuzzy if the vaio's turned off and on again.

have you tried a system restore to a point before you attached the projector..
