Expresscard - how do I stop it ejecting ??

I have recently bought an Expresscard for my Sony Vaio VGC-FW11M to add 4 extra USB ports, because one of the 3 is faulty.

However, it does not stay in the slot as each time I plug in - or take out - a device (eg. a memory card)   the entire card ejects itself.

I asked the supplier of the card why this is happening and he said that Expresscards are designed to eject as soon as they receive any pushing or pulling pressure !  This seems crazy to me as the previous PCMCIA card slots stayed in place until you pressed the Eject button making them suitable for any uses.

He said that some slots are more temperamental than others as far as accidental ejection of the card - I would have expected Sony's to be "top of the range" in terms of reliability and stability.

I would appreciate your feedback on my concerns, because I am really frustrated that the card has to be held in place each and every time a device is inserted or removed .... for the remainder of this laptop's lifetime !!

Regards,

Julia
