Fn Keys

The Fn shortcut keys are no no longer functioning, ie the ones that make the screen larger and turn volume up and down by holding Fn and a function key. Last thing I think =I did that could have effected this was downloading a BIOS update from VAIO update, but surely that shouldnt be a problem....

any ideas?

Hi Dom,

Usually the following should restore your FN keys..

Download the pre-installed utilities from vaio link and install the following folders in order

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service

Reboot

You may have to do this more than once..:smileywink:

Ive found ther first one, where are th other two?

Also, my CD ROM drive doesnt seem to be working. Ive put a disk in, and it seems to spin, but the sound is different. Then when I open the drive on the computer theres nothing there.

Hi Dom,

I think the folders are

Folder 1 Sony Utilities
Folder 2 Sony Shared Library
Folder 7 Vaio Event Service

But to check just read the setup.ini files inside each folder...:smileywink:
