Hello, I'm no tech wizzard but my DVD drive wasn't reading anything last night, i reinstalled the driver (painstakngly) and still didn't work, so got a microfibre cloth and cleaned the lens on the drive and it worked again, you could try this. If your drive has dissapeared from your devices I could only suggest rebooting to factory settings.
