Hi everyone!
I have a VGN-FW11M VAIO notebook and when i connect it to a Full HD television, i have a 1920x1080 resolution without a problem. But why can't i have this resolution on my notebooks' own screen. It just support 1600x900 -16:9 resolution.
I know that upper models of FW series supports 1920x1080 resoultion on their own screens just like F series do. And they have the same screen size - 16,4".
I just wanted to find an answer if i can have a 1920x1080 resolution on my VAIO. Is it possible that my graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 3470) doesn't support it on the notebook itself? It's up-to-date.
You cannot display 1920X1080 on your screen - it does not have enough physical pixels.
Your screen only actually has 1600X900 pixels built in during manufacture - you would need to change the screen to one with 1920X1080 pixels to display full HD.
Replacing the screen would cost more than your Vaio is worth (and I guess you would be hard pressed to see any difference on such a small screen).
It's strange that all of them have the same screen size but not the same resolution. 😕
But thank you for your answer.
