Hi, i buy a sony vaio pcv-w2, good office desktop, but without any cd ,dvd or manual. I install windows xp pro (my license) , original was sell with windows xp home edition, i download every pakage from vaio-link.com. Everythink works, but not the tv tuner and original sony software. On site just update. I need the software for the gigapoket tv tuner... any advice is good..
Hi dlaptes and welcome to Club Vaio.
The software that you are looking for is only available on the recovery disks that should have been supplied with the computer. You need to contact support to obtain a copy of these, approx. €70.
Your user guide and software manual is available on
Vaio-Link
For a guide to installing the applications (once you have the recovery disks) have a look here. Reference is made to various US sites but all drivers are available for download from Vaio Link.
Thank's very much Rich912, I post a new case e-support, but no reponse yet.. I try to use this tv tuner with any aplication:
amcap.exe (work with every device i try), chris tv lite, ulead video studio, but don't work. If someone know another software ho work with this device please inform me..:smileycry:
If the disks were meant to be supplied I'd have a word with the retailler and ask them what happened to the set. Really they should cough up for the disks if they lost them, proving this will be probably hard though
I have a pcv-w2 too and I have a really wierd one.... I have sound on Gigapocket but no pictures and each file menu I click seems to 'double load' really quickly (if you blink you miss it) I've tried uninstallling and re installing Gigapocket but no joy.....
Anyone else have this problem?? Any response gladly welcomed!!
Make sure you get all the updates for Gigapocket, this happened to me when I installed a codec, but the update got my pictures back
me too!! same thing sound but no piccies, tried all updates
could you be kind enough to provide link to the update that fixed yours please?
This is quite a simple one.
The W1 AND the W2 are sold WITH a recovery CD so all the correct software is on that. Most of the updates on the Vaio-Link site demand that the original software build is present as a starting point and XP Pro knackers most of this from the start so:
1. If you bought this from a reseller - go get the CD or get them to buy it for you.
2. If this is a second hand machine you will have to stump up the £70 or whatever it is that Sony charges for the disc.
3. If this is allegedly a new machine be aware that it may have been lying around for a long time as these have been superceded some time ago.
Good luck - and "no" we cannot supply a copy of our recovery disc as (a) it is illegal to do so and (b) it is illegal to do so - a point so incredibly important I thought it was worth mentioning twice ...
