GRV616S Memory Problem

Hi all,

We have a HW-problem on our GRV616S, more precisely it's related to the memory chip / memory bank.

Currently the NB is running on 256MB, which is killing us. We are afraid however that buying a new 512MB-chip, without testing-possibility, would not work.

Can any1 share experience on this issue, or point to a place for VAIO-certified memory purchase?

I had this problem with my GRX316SP - one slot died - you can use 1 @ 512Mb card in the good slot and it should work fine.

A quick glance on the Crucial-site learned me that their prices seem reasonable.
