HARD DISK PROBLEMS

Hi everyone !

I have a VAIO VGN-FW11M since a few days and I've got a big problem : 15Gb lost on my hard disk in 2 days. Can somebody help me? Or does somebody have an explanation for it?

welcome to Club Vaio..

The missing HDD space could be due to the space used by Vista's System Restore..

You can check what space is being used and allocated to shadow storage by follow this guide..

Click Start, then click All programs followed by Accessories.

In Accessories Right Click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

In the Command Prompt window type: vssadmin list shadowstorage and then click Enter

Hopefully you should see..

Used Shadow Copy Storage space:

Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space:

Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space:

Hi Thamalus ! Thanks for this fast answer ... Here is what I get when I followed your guide :

Used Shadow Copy Storage space: 31.375Gb
Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space: 32.58Gb
Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space: 33.396Gb

My hard disk has 222Gb with 62.7Gb busy. But also 29.1Gb busy with files ... How can I reduce that 30Gb of Vista's shadow storage and get back the lost Gb?
