I just bought a VGN-FS115B and it says that there is a 60gig harddrive in there.
I know there some difference between the actual space and what windows says is available but according to Windows, I only have 48.8 gigs.
That seems like a huge difference to me.
Read my signature. What do you think, use this part of your harddisc?:smileywink:
Does seem a bit of a huge difference.
Download Everest Home Edition and let it do a full analysis of your PC.
The inofmation you get is pretty accurate. Hope you fing the missing GB's. My little old Toshiba only has 6GB and you are missing more than that....:smileysad:
There is a hidden recovery partition on the disk. You can reclaim this space if you write your recovery disks (I suggest 2 or 3 copies) and perform a recovery removing the hidden partition at the same time.
It's Sonys cheap & nasty way of saving themselves 50 pence.
Amazing.... Now I understand what all the fuss was about in all those earlier posts.
One advantage of the "older" machines - you get the whole hard drive!!!
