Hello Problems with my Sony Vaio VGN-A215Z

Hello everybody, i have some questions to other vaio users! My First notebook was the Sony Vaio Z600NE!!! REALLY GOOD MACHINE! and i would prefer some small nice device again! but i get this VGN-A215Z for a really good price ... but what happend? i have bought it 3.Jan.!!! And have to send it back in the middle of March!!! The DVD-RW/CD-RW was down! It is a liteon, so i do not like liteon at all .. but what i really want to know is if someone else have got similar problems with that drive?
Also why i can´t give passwords with big or small numbers or writings? (bios! With my Vaio Z600NE no problems at all!!!!)

Hope their are someone who can help me because if not i want to buy an apple!!!! Less weight! Longer life!!!! and it looks nearly as good as the Vaio!

No problem to lock my VAIO with a password like these. But I have a PCG-FR.

I am not sure by buying some apple! But i think it is ok, looked to the "new" t-series ... it is very nice and small, but you have the main problem! TOOOO EXPANSIVE! 😄

I don't think you should give up on a machine just because you got me with a dud drive.

I recently bought a vaio 397xp and it died three days in, nothing happend apart from the little green power light coming on.
I sent it back and bought another one.

Sony on the whole build robust quality notebooks.

Get another of the same model and enjoy.

@hasand you are joking aren´t you? I have 100% fallout with these drives and you really want from me that i bought it again?? I do not know now what is the status, but i need some much lighter and "better" notebook, for daily office and a little internet surfing! I do not need a laptop with 15" inches!

You need an ultra portable then, like the C1.
Yes it's a classic VAIO, and yes it's great, and they were better built in those days too!

Yes C1, it is sure a great machine, but did you see that price??? And say if i am wrong (just didn´t take a closer look) but it has no devices included? (OK external!!! But intern?) So I think an apple Pb 12" will be a good choice wouldn´t be?
