Help me! :( My remote will not display anything!

So annoying The player is working fine, and the buttons on the remote work fine but nothing is displayed on the screen of the remote. The backlight will not even come on. It is blank, when on or off.

The wierd thing is, is that i can still use the remote but obviously not being able to see what i am doing. It is still under garuntee, but that probs mean i'l hav to back up all my music

Does anyone know what has happened and if i can fix it easily or does it need repairing ?

nope sorry, seems like your remote is faulty, your probably best off going to a sony shop/centre and ask if it can be fixed or they should atleast replace it!

first of all try to clean the remote cable-end and the reception for it on the vp with something like a cloth [but not wet!!!!!]
maybe something is blocking the remote from connecting well enough.
then check the remote setting in the vp menu and see if the contrast is very low.
i mean,if it is set for any reason to 1 then it could show something just enough so it is displayed but faded enough so that you cant see it:smileywink:

if none of the two has worked then probably it needs replacing!
