I have a problem with a high-pitched sound coming from my computer. The sound has been there since I first bought the Vaio and started it the first time, but has become more noticeable lately. It is sort of like a high-pitched humming that is constant from the moment I turn the PC on. The sound has a high frequency, but is not really high in volum, although it has increased in volum too. I have tried to locate the sound to find out where it is coming from but can't seem to figure it out. The high-pitched sound is there even if I run the PC with the power adapter, and it is still there if the fan isn't running. So I suspect the hard drive.
Could have some advice on how to handle this problem? What should I do if the hard drive is the problem? And isn't that a warranty issue?
